Remarks on Advent, 2021 Meetings on the Liturgy of the Word at Mass
“This was a fantastic program. I felt like I was back in college learning again. The instructor was excellent. I learned so much more about the history of salvation and how God communicates with his people. My attention and prayer during Mass will have renewed spirit and meaning for me. Thank you for providing this opportunity for spiritual growth.”

“Thank you and your committee for putting together the Advent program. I have enjoyed each presentation and looked forward to Tuesday evenings during the 4 weeks of sessions. The presenters were very impressive, welcomed questions, and just wanted to share their knowledge. I am always seeking ways to grow in my faith and spirituality and this Advent program has certainly been a vehicle to help me along my journey. I have been going to church my entire life and had no idea how much I was missing – the Mass has taken on new meaning for me! Dr. Kelly Anderson was incredible. Her knowledge of scripture and her ability to explain it are a true gift. I went to law school and listening to her I felt like a 1st grader. I truly thought it fascinating how she showed us how interwoven the Old Testament and New Testament are and the role of Psalms. How do we lay people even begin to understand the readings without someone like her by our side?”

“Thanks for putting together the Advent speaker series on the Mass. The knowledge and passion of the speakers was inspiring and left me wanting to learn more. In my opinion we need to publicize the You Tube recordings so anyone who missed it can catch up. I recommend the series to anyone who wants to grow their faith.”

“The Advent series on the Mass was thoughtful and informative, and each presentation revealed many new areas for me to contemplate about our faith. I hope it becomes a tradition at St. Augustine!”
